Red Knob is a rock formation a few kilometres from the tiny town of Vaughan in Central Victoria, Australia. The location is one of many old gold mining sites in the area. The rock, orange red and particularly striking against a blue sky, is well suited to a panoramic composition. I’ve photographed this site on many occasions and usually extend my visit with a walk down to the small, quiet poplar forest behind the rock.
