Changing Seasons Presents Opportunities

These days I live in Melbourne, Australia. In this neck of the woods winter has officially begun. With that in mind I thought it was a good idea to post an image that speaks about the last days of autumn. I particularly like the color contrast between the leaves as well as the luminous quality of the background.

While the days are short at this time of year the relatively low angle of the sun provides numerous opportunities for the keen photographer to produce images with a long tonal range featuring fully textured highlights and shadows.

Wherever you are and whatever season it is in your part of the world NOW is always the best time to get up and get out there. Enjoy the sites and peoples in our beautiful world and allow photography to bring you closer to the very essence of life. The clock is ticking and every second that passes brings us closer to the end of our time here. Wouldn’t it be great, when our time comes to shake off the mortal coil, to leave this world having made the most of the opportunities given to us?

There’s no time to be napping, so get out and start snapping!
