I'm happy to announce that I'II be running a Photography Tour to China during January 2012. While exact dates, details and pricing is still to be finalised I can share with you my initial plans as follows:

Day 1: Beijing

  • The Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven
  • Special group dinner
  • Image Processing and Feedback session

- Culture and history

- Architectural photography and plenty of locals to photograph

  • Fly Beijing to Harbin
  • Ice World

- Bizzare and fantastic sculputures illuminated in neon

- We'll spend several hours at Ice World, ideally from late afternoon into the evening

- Architectural and Night Photography

Day 3: Harbin

  • Snow World

- A wonderful world of sculptures, carved in snow, within a pristine landscape

- This is a significant and large outdoor event and we'll spend as much of the day here as possible

- Architectural and Landscape Photography

  • Image Processing and Feedback session
  • Fly Harbin to Shanghai (late evening flight)

Day 4: Shanghai

  • The Bund, Nanjing Road and the Peace Hotel

- Historic Shanghai where European architecture meets modern Chinese glitz

- Architectural and Night Photography

 

  • Special Bonus: Great dinning, in an amazing location, and a night of Jaz with a real oldtime band

 

- I'm working to arrange a Night Shoot from a special location with amazing views

Day 5: Yellow Mountain

  • Fly from Shanghai to Huangshan
  • Drive to Yellow Mountain and ascend to the top (probably by cablecar), prior to a short trek to hotel

 - Landscape Photography

  • Image Processing and Feedback session

Day 6: Yellow Mountain

  • Sunrise, Afternoon and Sunset shoots

Day 7: Yellow Mountain

  • Sunrise shoot
  • After breakfast short trek to second hotel for lunch and rest
  • Afternoon and Sunset shoots

Day 8: Yellow Mountain

  • Sunrise shoot
  • After breakfast short trek to third hotel for lunch and rest  
  • Afternoon and Sunset shoots
  • Evening Photo Feedback Session

Day 9: Yellow Mountain

  • Sunrise shoot
  • Afterbreakfast check out and descend mountain (probably by nearby cable car)

Day 10: Village Life

  • Local tour to beautiful landscape location from the film Crouching Dragon Hidden Tiger
  • Classic Chinese Village

- Beautiful landscapes, portraits and vintage Chinese Villages

  • Final Group Celebration Dinner

- Late Flight back to Shanghai

Where possible, concise daily talks/presentations will be provided to prepare participants prepare for the following days photography.

I am expecting that the maximum number of participants will be set at 12, though I am prepared to run the tour with a smaller group.
