How to Photograph Ice World, Harbin, China

 

Looking for something weird, wacky and totally fun to photograph. I've found it - Ice World in the far Northeast of China. Situated just outside of the city of Harbin, Ice World really comes to life at nighttime when the life-size architectural structures that dominate the site are illuminated by a range of artificial lights. I kid you not, it's a blast!

Check out the video above for a presentation, featuring loads of images, that describe how I went about photographing the location at night. Information on hand-held versus tripod-based photography are discussed as is low-light shooting at high ISO's. These tips are both worthwhile for general night photography and specific to photographing Ice World.
