Beacon of Light, Vienna, Austria

Beacon of light, Vienna, Austria

Canon 5D Mark II camera and Canon 24-105mm f4 L series lens @ 84mm. 1/15 second @f4.

A beautiful summer day found me walking the streets of downtown Vienna. I made the above photo at dusk when there's a lovely mix between the ambient and artificial light sources. It's a very special time of the day when time seems to slow and a greater sense of connection can be achieved.

Focal Points

The dome has a great shape, but it was the smaller globe that drew by attention. It appeared like a beacon of light to ward of the coming darkness. A nice image and a great metaphor.

Upcoming Night Photography Workshop

I'II be returning to my regular series of Night Photography Workshops in the City of Melbourne during January 2014. For just $79 you'll receive the following:

  • several hours of hands-on, practical photography with a group of like-minded folk
  • tuition from yours truly
  • a copy of my eBook on Night Photography

Great value, knowledge, empowerment and an awesome experience. What's more it's going to be fun.

This workshop is a great opportunity to improve your own photography and would make a fantastic Christmas present for a loved one.

I'II start to announce dates within the next few days. Stay tuned for this and other big announcements.
