Your Guide To World Travel Destinations

Welcome to the Travel Photography Guru world travel destinations page. It’s a collection of the very best travel destinations I’ve photographed across six continents.

This world travel destinations page has been created to help you find what you need, quickly and efficiently, from the significant amount of content on this site.

You’ll find what you’re looking for showcased in inspirational blog posts illustrated with beautiful photography. Here’s how it works.

I’ve organized this resource into six sections, each relating to the continents I’ve explored and photographed over the years.

Simply scroll down to the continent you’re most interested in to discover the countries represented.

Finally, click on a thumbnail link to take you to posts on the country of your choice.

Europe World Travel Destinations

My Europe world travel destinations is a collection of travel photography posts from a number of amazing destinations around Europe.

The gorgeous town of Salzburg, home to the motion picture film The Sound Of Music, is central to my Austria travel destinations guide.

The historically significant old town of Bruges and a variety of fun locations in Copenhagen are explored in the Belgium and Denmark guides.

Are you looking to discover one of the world’s most picturesque and peaceful countries? You’ll find what you’re looking for in the Faroe Islands.

If it’s history and culture you’re looking for then it’s hard to go past France.

I’m confident you’ll find my explorations of Paris, including the fascinating Pere Lachaise Cemetery and the Palace of Versailles, well worth investigating.

The vibrant city of Berlin, the sublime landscapes of Iceland and the rich history and colorful architecture of Moscow and St. Petersburg are showcased in my Germany, Iceland and Russia travel guides.

Australasia World Travel Destinations

Australia and New Zealand are among the most livable countries in the world. Safe and friendly these countries offer a wide range of amazing travel experiences.

This land of beautiful white sand beaches, dramatic landscapes, vibrant cities and friendly towns makes me grateful to have been born in Australia.

Nonetheless I often dream about my next New Zealand photography adventure.

Asia World Travel Destinations

I’ve had a long term love affair with Asia. In fact seven of my first eight overseas trips were to Asia.

Economic development has brought many changes to Asia since my first trip, way back in 1988.

But Asia still offers the word traveller history, culture, incredibly landscapes and some of the most wonderful people in the world.

Bali offers the traveller tranquility, peace and stunning landscapes.

China provides a travel experience based around history and culture, contrasting with a rapidly developing economy.

India is, perhaps, the most extraordinary and most difficult travel destination in Asia. I’ve travelled to India on, I think, five occasions.

India is such a diverse and visually arresting country that it’s likely to provide you with memories and photos that you’ll treasure for the rest of your life.

I expect to continue to explore Asia for many years to come.

North America World Travel Destinations

Greenland is a destination like no other.

From the air Greenland probably appears like the wildest, grandest and most dramatic landscape on the planet.

But the tourist town of Ilulissat is an incredible jumping off point for a range of life changing Greenland travel adventures.

Hiking around the edge of town and a midnight cruise on the spectacular Ilulissat Icefjord are amongst the most accessible travel experiences you’ll be able to undertake.

If you’re looking for an even more remote adventure take a boat to the amazing Glacier Lodge Eqi and hike to the awe inspiring Eqi Glacier. I set off around midnight and walked and photographed until sunrise.

South America World Travel Destinations

Cosmopolitan Buenos Aires and the tourist town of Ushuaia are showcased in the Argentina travel section of this site.

Tourist hotspots like the La Boca and San Telmo districts and the historically significant and visually stunning La Recoleta Cemetery are explored through informative posts and visually dynamic photography.

Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego National Park are easily accessible from the southern tourist town of Ushuaia, right at the bottom of Argentina.

Ushuaia is also the port from which many tours to Antarctica embark. It’s an interesting place, set on the southern edge of the South American continent.

Color, abstraction and wild landscapes. That’s what you’ll find in my Argentina world travel section.

Antarctica and Southern Ocean World Travel Destinations

There’s no where else on the planet quite like Antarctica. I co-run a photography tour to Antarctica and look forward to running more into the future.

Antarctica is a wild, dramatic and simply stunning region that I hope you find a way to visit at some stage in your life.

The Falkland Islands can be visited as part of a longer adventure that includes Antarctica and South Georgia Island.

That’s what I did. It takes longer, but it’s a more diverse and price friendly alternative than undertaking three separate adventures.

The capital Stanley is an interesting and remote British outpost in the South Atlantic Ocean. But the best part of your South Georgia Islands experience is likely to be the wildlife you’ll get to photograph.

South Georgia Island is remarkable. If you’re looking for fantastic wildlife photography opportunities and dramatic landscapes it may well be the place for you.

There’s no wonder South Georgia Island is on the bucket list for many folks with a keen interest in wildlife photography and the history of Antarctic adventure.

World Nomads Travel Insurance | Get A Quote

If you’re about to embark on an overseas travel adventure you’ll most definitely need good travel insurance.

World Nomads are a trusted and affordable option for travel insurance. They’re the company I now use.

If you’re interested in obtaining a quote simply fill out the following online form. It’s completely private and only takes a few minutes to complete.

Once the quote has been generated you have the opportunity to purchase the insurance cover.

Alternatively, take the price that’s been quoted and use it to compare the cover offered by World Nomads with one or more other travel insurance providers.

Once you’ve purchased your travel insurance you can embark on your trip in the knowledge that, should things go awry, you’re covered with a level of protection that you believe is appropriate for your upcoming adventure.

If you have any questions about the exact level of travel insurance you need, particularly if you’re traveling with an expensive camera kit, simply contact the good folks at World Nomads.

More Travel Adventures To Come

Please feel free to return regularly as I’m a prolific blogger and there’s going to be many, many new posts added over time.

Actually I’ve been a photographer for 40 years and most of my photography adventures where undertaken during the days of film.

So, in addition to regular posts from my most recent world travels, I’m really looking forward to adding stories and photos from my early adventures between 1988 and 2006, when I converted to my first digital camera.
