Prince is Dead! Purple Rain Forever
In honor of the passing of Prince: singer, musician and creative genius.
I was shocked to have read of the passing of Prince. He was in Melbourne recently, but I missed the announcements so was unable to see his solo performance: just him and a piano.
I loved Raspberry Beret when it was released and my girlfriend at that time loved Purple Rain. We were at the perfect age for Prince, who was then a pop phenomena.
But he was much more than a pop star. He was a master musician, great songwriter and consummate performer who touched the lives of many, many people.
I regret that I never saw Prince live. That would have been a memorable experience. Today I'II mourn his loss, but be reconciled with the knowledge that he's now free of pain and suffering.
I've titled the above image, Purple Rain, in his honor.
